Hello, I'm Andrew Kuhar: a digital artist navigating the practices of game design & art, specifically in environmental art and sound production.
I often approach aspects of 2D & 3D visuals both through original work/assets in addition to modifying existing video game engines, or constructing user-generated environments. As an extension of genuine interest in studying landscapes, I also investigate the social aspects of game environments and how sensory signifiers can augment them. Being an avid learner of design and theory in modern games, I regularly consider what options haven't been explored both during and outside of projects.
I've been fortunate enough to have worked on a number of collaborative game-design projects between the Cleveland Institute of Art (CIA) & Case Western Reserve University for both XNA and the iPhone platforms. In addition, for the past year or so I've been an author and publisher of a number of blogs that study game design and theory, and more recently I began engineering, writing, and producing The Modcast, a podcast that discusses topics in game design from a student perspective.
I've reached my graduating year from the Cleveland Institute of Art, majoring in TIME - Digital Arts with an emphasis in Game Design.
Always an avid fan of Radiohead, Slovenian culture, coffee and thai food.
Thanks for the visit.
